Toronto Pflag is back from the holidays and here is a taste of what’s happening:
Thanking Evan Dean
One of our remarkable board members had to call it quits in January after spreading himself too thinly. (Is that the right expression??)
Evan has been a Pflag volunteer for many years and a board member since 2014. As Volunteer Coordinator and Governance Leader, Evan made sure our volunteers were ready for Pride and special events and ran our AGMs with expertise and systems that reassured us all. His experience as a former board member of the Pride Toronto board and his amazing collection of contacts were a real benefit to us.
We will miss Evan around the table and thank him for all his hard work and enthusiasm.
Toronto Pflag has decided to take the plunge and add Chat to our support menu. Several volunteers are busy coding in their spare time to build the functionality we will need. They are the biggest hearted troopers imaginable, and came to us through the Capital One Hackathon last October. More news will follow as training and promotion are added to bring this to life. Board members Jill Holroyd and Ryan Dyck are the leads for us.
Let us Cut Your Hair!
Ilona Reece, one of our new board members, is organizing a Cut-a-Thon at the Anthony Passero Salon in Yorkville where she is a stylist. So, tell your regular stylist that you’re NOT cheating on them but helping Toronto Pflag, and mark April 2nd on your calendar.
