Whether you're an LGBTQ person who is "coming out" to your family and friends, or a parent who has just learned that your child is gay, Toronto PFLAG is here for you. For some families, this can be a very long and difficult process, as parents struggle to understand and adjust to a new reality. For others, it's a smooth transition. No matter where you are on this journey, Toronto PFLAG can help.
Our 24-hour, confidential phone line is open to LGBTQ individuals, and their parents, family and friends. If you have questions, or just need to talk, this is a great place to start. Our trained volunteers are parents who understand what you're going through.
They listen, offer support and suggest community resources and reading materials that are suitable for your particular situation.
When you call, you'll be asked to leave a message with your first name, phone number and any details you'd like to provide; a Toronto PFLAG volunteer will call you back as quickly as possible. When we return your call we never identify Toronto PFLAG on an answering machine or if someone else answers the phone. We do our best to maintain confidentiality.
