International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHTB).

  • Toronto City Hall 100 Queen Street West Toronto, ON Canada (map)

On Friday, May 17, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. Toronto Pflag families and volunteers will gather with Mayor Olivia Chow at Toronto City Hall to raise the Progress Pride Flag marking the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHTB).

This year’s theme, selected by May17.org is: “No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all.” It is a call for people to unite around the common goal of creating a world without injustice, where everyone feels safe, valued, and included.

Mayor Chow will read the IDAHTB Proclamation and raise the Progress Pride Flag. She will then be joined by our guest speakers Kelly Svetkoff and Lisa DelCol.

Kelly is a group home resident who will share the challenges they face while self-advocating as a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and as a person with a disability.

Lisa is the newly-elected Toronto Pflag president. She will provide insights and observations from the perspective of an affirming parent and ally.

We hope you will join us in a show of solidarity and acceptance.
