Virtual Workplace Workshops
Toronto Pflag conducts virtual workshops and presentations for businesses and community groups to share information about diversity, promoting acceptance, how to be an ally, and our personal experiences as inclusive families. We talk about how to better support our LGBTQ2S+ colleagues at work, as well as those who are parents or family of LGBTQ2S+ loved ones.
Volunteer speakers share their personal story before diving into the workshop’s main topic. The formal part of the presentation lasts approximately 45-minutes, followed by 15 minutes for discussion. The content and approach can be customized according to the audience.
Cost for corporate workshops are $1000 and not-for-profit organizations are eligible for a reduced rate of $500. The income from these events helps to fund our school presentation program. Larger contributions can be acknowledged with optional Sponsor status.
To arrange a Toronto Pflag workshop or presentation for your work or community group, please submit your information using this online registration form and a Toronto Pflag representative will be in touch to finalize details.
how to Be an ally
Our original workshop covers the basics: coming out at work, the power of allies and what you can do to make your workplace more welcoming.
All about gender
This workshop takes a deeper dive into gender. Many of us, including members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, want to understand more about gender identity, expression and lived experience.
Parenting
Our newest workshop is designed for parents and grandparents. It covers inclusive parenting, gender policing, the “golden rule,” the coming out conversation, and what to do if your child says they are transgender.
To book a workshop please email workshops@torontopflag.org. Tell us about your workplace and give us a few dates so we can line up a volunteer.
