This year, the theme for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHTB) is Breaking the Silence.
With the current pandemic, here in Toronto there is no flag raising, no celebration in the Village. In a social sense, we have been silenced.
Around the world, many people who are LGBTQ2S have to be silent about who they are to be safe. They see places like Toronto as a virtual Emerald City. They dream about coming here.
There are many of you, already here in Toronto, who continue to keep silent because you are afraid.
In particular, you might worry about parent and family rejection. Thanks to the virus, you may be isolating in a non-accepting home, or find yourself forced back into the closet.
Toronto Pflag exists for you. We specialize in helping parents accept their kids. If you call or email us today, we will answer.
Go to www.torontopflag.org to register for online support sessions and for more information.
And know that we accept you. You are perfect.
