As you might guess our Pride month is a little different this year.
Normally we are gathering and training volunteers, checking our signs, booking a van, and looking forward to seeing our friends at our Pride booth, Pride Brunch, and as we walk in the Trans March and Pride Parade.
The Pride weekend usually caps off a season of heavy demand for workshops both at schools and businesses. The former is free and funded by the revenues from the latter.
We have not visited a school since March 5th and only had one paying workshop in May. Where my calendar was usually jammed this time of year, I have found time to sew masks and watch a ridiculous amount of Netflix. But June is starting to shape up both for Pride and for Toronto Pflag.
On the “Pride Sunday” we will have a Zoom mingle (bring your own coffee/mimosa) and we will be participating in Pride’s Virtual Parade (details still to come).
And we are booking a few digital workshops both for students and businesses in June. We are delighted that Pride at Work has been spreading the word about our availability. It takes a village…
And of course, we will be answering the phone and offering online support meetings throughout June.
Please check our website for details.
So, Happy Pride and I hope to see you on Zoom!
