PRIDE 2020 RECAP

Pride 2020 has come and gone. This year we missed seeing everyone in person: in the Parade, during our Family Brunch, or at our booth.

But our version of virtual Pride was a lot of fun! We were grateful for all the families and volunteers who joined our Virtual Pride Week Support Meeting, Dads Night, and Pride Sunday “Coffee and Mimosa Mingler”, all on Zoom.  It was really special to see your faces and hear what Pride has meant for you, especially during these times.

A special shout out to Mayor John Tory who popped up on-screen to wish Happy Pride to everyone at our Mingler! The Mayor regularly attends our Pride Family Brunch, so it was great (and "like old times") to see him stop-by to support our Pflag families. Thank you also to Miss Conception for her entertaining digital drag show dedicated to Pflag families.

All of this was done from our homes. At our support meeting, in particular, it means we can’t comfort people the ways we want to.

I am sending you a hug wherever you are, from me and all the others at Toronto Pflag.

Anne
